August, 2025 - Fenwick Island, Delaware

The entire family enjoyed a week at Fenwick Island, Delaware.

Here Lynnette welcomes Parker and Zoey to Maryland from Alaska.

Zoey helping Mimi with groceries for the week.  She chose to carry the chocolate chips.

Yay, Fenwick!

But before heading to Fenwick, we had to visit the Kavern Ice Cream shop in Pasadena.

It didn't take long for the cousins to interact.

Gunnar the Airport Dog gets to go to Fenwick but has to wear the cone of shame.

Now in the Fenwick house.

On the patio overlooking the canal.

Joe reading to Zoey.

Kayaking with Parker.

Lost at sea!

Gunnar making himself comfortable.

Don relaxing.

Parker goes grocery shopping with Mimi.

Gunnar lit up with glow wands.

Zoey sitting in the big chair.

Zoey having fun on the patio.

Now at the beach.

Jacque and her son.

We had heavy rain one night and the next morning woke up to this!

The entire street was flooded and it was deep.

Fortunately the water wasn't high enough to get into the car floorboards.

Gunnar who loves the water loved the flooded street.

So did the kids.

Fun on the water.

Teddy riding the boogie-board.

Maggie and Jacque.

A car braves the waters.

I'm thinking the water can't be good for that house lumber.

 Griffin and Zoey.

William and Parker.

Good thing that sign is there to tell us there is water on the road.

Good thing that house is on stilts.

Saying goodbye to Gunnar who is departing with Don.

There goes Don in the "Four-Legger".

It's hard to tell where the canal ends and the street begins.

The next day, we packed up and left the house.  But on the way home we took the girls to Trimpers Amusement Park in Ocean City.

It's been a long time since I've been here.  I have memories of it being sort of dark and dingy, with the societal rejects operating the rides.

But I was pleasantly surprised this time.  The rides were the same but the staff as friendly, helpful,  clean-cut, and took their jobs seriously.  I think most of them were from eastern Europe, working here for the summer season.  The place seemed to be well maintained and brighter.

Parking and Zoey riding a little train through a gold mine.  Zoey looks happy now but she was not happy for long.

Most of the rides were perfect for the girls.

Parker and Zoey on the Merry Go Round.

Driving cars.  Driving cars fast.

Parker tried out the bumper cars.

Both girls liked the circular swing.

Following the Trimper rides, we of course had to have Thrasher's French Fries.

Mmmmm, good.

Looking down the Boardwalk.

The Ripley's Believe It Or Not is still here.  I've been been inside for some reason.

We also had some Waffle Cake.  And ice cream for Zoey.

Ice cream for Parker too.

Then it was time for the long drive back to Severna Park.

The girls didn't last long.
